Delavan Education Foundation Funded Projects: 2010

The DEF is grateful for the donations that allowed us to support the following projects during 2010:

HOBY (Hugh O’Brien Youth) Leadership Conference. 2 students will attend this conference.
ABC rug for Special Ed K-3 classroom
Funds to aid in purchase of new curtain for the stage in the gymnasium.
Donation to Drug Prevention Task Force and the Delavan PTO for food at the Community Night at the school in March
Donation to Delavan High School After Prom Party
Scholarships to Erin Springer and Trevor Teal to attend Eureka College
A wireless Multi-Media Center (CD listening station with headphones, microphone and recorder) for 1^st Grade classroom
A wireless Multi-Media Center (CD listening station with headphones, microphone and recorder) for Kindergarten classroom
Teaching guides for novels, vocabulary books and other books to aid the English Department
Weekly Reader Subscriptions to the 2^nd Grade
National Geographic subscription for the school
Tumble Book Subscription for online books to be accessed from the district website.
Quick Word Handbooks. These are a quick reference book for 3^rd Grade students
Scholastic Book gift certificates so that Early Childhood students can begin to build their own library
Partial funding to Delavan IMC to automate the school library through the Regional Alliance Library System. The District and the Delavan PTO also donated to this automation.
Partial funding for Camp Read-A-Lot. These funds aided in bringing Chris McBrian, a storyteller, to entertain the students. Approximately 90% of the elementary students attend Camp Read-A-Lot.
